Coco Gauff has cemented her status as one of tennis’s brightest stars by winning the 2025 French Open, marking her second Grand Slam title. In a thrilling final at Roland Garros, Gauff overcame world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka with a scoreline of 6–7(5), 6–2, 6–4, showcasing her resilience and skill on the clay courts.

This victory is particularly significant as Gauff becomes the first American woman to win the French Open since Serena Williams in 2015. At 21 years old, she also stands as the youngest American to claim the Roland Garros title since Williams in 2002.

Gauff’s journey to this point has been marked by remarkable achievements. She first gained international attention at age 15 during Wimbledon 2019, where she defeated Venus Williams in the opening round. Since then, she has consistently demonstrated her prowess on the court, including a victory at the 2023 US Open, where she also bested Sabalenka.

Beyond her singles success, Gauff has made significant strides in doubles, winning the French Open doubles title in 2024 with partner Kateřina Siniaková. She also made history as the youngest-ever U.S. flag bearer at the Paris Olympics opening ceremony in 2024.

Gauff’s triumph at the 2025 French Open not only adds to her growing list of accolades but also solidifies her position as a leading figure in women’s tennis.
