Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan Tate have been charged with multiple serious offenses in the United Kingdom, including rape, human trafficking, and other related crimes.
Charges and Legal Proceedings
As of May 28, 2025, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) in the UK has authorized a total of 21 criminal charges against the Tate brothers. Andrew Tate, 38, faces 10 charges involving three alleged victims, including rape, actual bodily harm, human trafficking, and controlling prostitution for gain. Tristan Tate, 36, faces 11 charges related to one alleged victim, encompassing similar offenses.
These charges stem from an investigation by Bedfordshire Police into activities that allegedly occurred between 2012 and 2015, prior to the brothers’ relocation to Romania.
Extradition and Ongoing Investigations
In 2024, a European Arrest Warrant was issued to extradite the Tate brothers from Romania to the UK. Romanian courts have approved the extradition; however, the process is pending the conclusion of ongoing legal proceedings in Romania, where the brothers face separate charges related to human trafficking and rape.
Denial of Allegations
Both Andrew and Tristan Tate have denied all allegations against them. They have publicly stated that any sexual activity was consensual and have characterized the charges as part of a broader conspiracy against them.
Additional Legal Actions
In addition to the criminal charges, Andrew Tate faces a civil lawsuit in the UK filed by four women alleging coercive control, including rape and threats with a weapon. The lawsuit follows a previous decision by the CPS in 2019 not to prosecute due to insufficient evidence.
